November Updates to PCHell

I just completed adding several articles to PCHell.com.

A Vista related article concerning how to turn the ease of access keyboard on or off.

An article on a program called BLService found on some HP computers with Vista that deals with the Microsoft BitLocker program.

and finally an article on a Kaspersky antivirus error with the HP keyboard filter driver HPQKBFILTR.SYS and how to resolve it.

These articles are pretty specific in nature, but hopefully they will help someone that runs across the same problem. I hit all three problems on the same laptop that I was working on for a customer this weekend.

Vista Update Error 80244019

A customer brought in a computer with Windows Vista that would not update properly. Every time he ran Windows Update he would receive an error 80244019. This error means that the system could not access the update server properly. Normally this would mean a system wide problem where nothing would access the Internet. In this case however, he could surf the Internet just fine but could not complete Windows update.

The culprit was the DNSChanger trojan. Visit my page on PCHell.com to learn more about this trojan and how to remove it.
